2020 Senoia Fishing Derby!

Reel Em In for Kids! Bring your gear and join us at Marimac Lakes Park (next to Senoia Public Library) for a free fishing derby, ages 5-15. Parent/ Legal guardian must be present. Limited fishing equipment is available. To reserve equipment, please email Kevin Marais at kevinmarais408@gmail.com There will be prizes for the most fish and the largest fish!

Our COVID-19 Prevention Plan

Volunteer Requirements

·         Volunteers should only show up to the event if they are completely free of symptoms related to COVID-19. Should you exhibit symptoms the morning of the event, please contact the event coordinator, Kevin Marais, at 315-396-4514, so we are aware of what tasks need to be covered by others.

·         All volunteers will have to sign a health screening form the morning of the event stating that they do not exhibit any symptoms related to COVID-19 the morning of the event, and one volunteer will take volunteer temperatures to ensure no one has a fever of 100.4 degrees or higher. A volunteer will not be able to stay at the event of they have a fever.

·         Volunteers must wear masks anytime:

o   He or she will be within a six feet distance from another volunteer or event participant.

o   Anytime he or she is talking near items that could be handled by other volunteers or event participants.

o   While handing out event rules and information.

o   While handing prizes to event winners.

o   While assisting fisherman or measuring their catch.

·         Volunteers should discourage people grouping together.

o   Though we will encourage pre-registration, there will be event day sign-up, and we should encourage social distancing during sign-up.

·         Hand Sanitizer and gloves will be available at the tables for volunteers.

Participants

We strongly recommend participants bring masks, and wear them when closer than six feet from people who are not members of the same household or arrived in the same vehicle.

We will have availability of disposable masks should a participant need one.

We will have many volunteers to assist, so there is no need to form tight lines, and we ask the fisherman to spread out on the bank.

Pancake Breakfast to support Senoia Area Athletic Assn

Help support the Senoia Area Athletic Association! Come enjoy a freshly prepared pancake breakfast! We’ll serve pancakes, sausage, juice, milk, and hot coffee. The proceeds of the breakfast will allow the Senoia Optimists to support the Senoia Area Athletic Association as well as other youth programs and activities. Join us at the Senior Center by the ball field on Howard Road for a morning of food and fellowship to benefit our young athletes!

Tickets are only $5 in advance for all you can eat tickets. Buy them online at OptimistClubofSenoia.org/pancakes Or pay $6 for all you can eat tickets at the door. Kids under 3 eat free!

Senoia Optimist BBQ fund raiser to benefit childhood cancer research

The Senoia Optimist Club will host a barbecue Saturday, October 20, to raise money to fund research for childhood cancer.

The barbecue will start at 11:00 a.m. and end at 2:00 p.m. or until the club sells out – whichever comes first. Pre-sale orders can be made with any member of the Senoia Optimist Club – especially for those customers who will be unable to make it to the barbecue on the 20th . Prices are as follows: Gallon of Stew = $30.00; Quart of Stew = $10.00; Pound of BBQ pork = $10.00; and a Plate with beverage = $10.00.

2019 Kid's Fishing Derby

Bring your gear and join us at Marimac Lakes Park next to the Senoia Public Library for a free fishing derby. Kids ages 5-15 are invited to attend; a parent or legal guardian must be present. Limited fishing equipment is available. Please email Kevin at kevinmarais408@gmail.com to reserve a set. Prizes will include 3 fishing rod and reel sets, and 2 tackle boxes with lures and hooks!
